Bubny City Center
Prague, Czech Republic

Asymptote's masterplan fora new business and recreational area in Prague is situated on what was formerly the main railway station 'Bubny' located in the centre of Prague. The project calls for a mixed use development on a  project. 25ha plot of relatively flat terrain in central Prague district 7, situated between two metro station exits Vltavská and Nádraží Holešovice.

This “city within the city” will consist of offices, apartments, retail, hotels and a hospital as well as a collection of university buildings. The construction of the first buildings is due to start in 2014 and the all developement of more than 600,000 sqm  will be spread over the following 10 years. In summer 2011, the development of the landplot crossed a significant milestone with the creation of the joint venture with Unibail-Rodamco for the conception of an anchor of 100,000 sqm of state of the art shopping mall on a plot of size 3.7ha. Asymptote's scheme seeks to reconcile the existing fabric and textures of historic Prague’s cityscape with a new state-of-the-art residential, commercial and retail development. The scheme utilizes a meandering sequence of building elements, tree-lined streets, public parks, promenades and pavilions to produce a vital and differentiated urban design strategy for modern Prague.
